4-H Livestock, Horse, and Small Animals
All animal projects require 4-H Online project enrollment in each respective species to participate in County and State Fair by May 1st.

County Youth Livestock Eligibility Requirements
All livestock animals to be shown at Doniphan County Fair must be tagged and identified to the Extension Office by May 1st.
All market animals (beef, sheep, and goats) must be weighed in at county weigh ins.
- Market Steer and Heifer Weigh in - March.
- Market Lamb and Goat Weigh in - April.
- All Swine are weighed in at county fair - July.
County Youth Horse Eligibility Requirements
All horse papers are due to the Extension Office on May 1st - Horse Identification Certificate
All proof of horse Coggins tests are due to the Extension Office on May 1st.
- Youth may share horses on the county level.
- Mules and ponies may be shown.

County Youth Small Animals Eligibility Requirements
Small animals are defined as dogs, poultry (chickens, ducks, turkeys, etc.), rabbits, and pets.
YQCA Information
Youth for the Quality Care of Animals (YQCA) is a national, multi-species youth livestock quality assurance program. It has replaced Youth Pork Quality Assurance. It is open to youth 8-21 years of age and focuses on food safety, animal well-being, and character development.
Contact the Extension Office or visit the K-State Department of Animal Sciences and Industry website to learn more. To register for training, create a user account on the YQCA website.
